Understanding Your Choice For The Best Underwear For Pregnancy

Pregnancy will bring in a lot of changes to a female body. These developments can be really cumbersome. At times it can even get into your nerves. Majority of your concern will be the bulging belly that grows as your baby grows inside your tummy. The thought of your skin stretching to a length that is far from the usual could perhaps be the strangest thing that can happen to you. At times, you’ll find yourself less attractive with a figure quite different from what you had before. However, if you are able to wear a good fitting underwear, you will find that it will do more wonders for your figure. Not every piece of undergarment can just do that, though. Here are some tips to find the best underwear for pregnancy.

Not only does a good-fitting underwear can make you look good, it can also make you feel better. You could even get the confidence to flaunt however you look.

Pregnancy and the Woman’s Body

When you are pregnant, a lot of changes happen to your body and you just have to make every possible adjustment to accommodate the new shape that you have. You will need to find the most suitable pieces of clothing that will not only provide the comfort that you need but will also support areas of your body that may receive the most pressure because of your pregnancy.

Just how did most parts of your body become so huge? Notice these changes lately?

Bigger hips. As the fetus in your womb develops it positions itself in the uterus month by month so that it can be easily transported from there down to the birth canal where nature has intended it to be ready for delivery a few months later. It’s growing body pushes the pelvic bones is made elastic by a pregnancy hormone called elastin. This hormone is appropriately named for the purpose it was meant for — to relax the cartilages and hold the bones together. It loosens the pubic symphysis, the place on the pubic bone found in front of the bladder where a ring of cartilage attaches the bone together.

Bigger breasts. It is just incomprehensible how a woman’s body prepares itself for its nurturing role. With a baby on the way, the mother’s breasts “increases in its water, fat, and electrolyte content.” Such developments are driven once again by pregnancy hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and prolactin). Throughout your pregnancy, your breasts can grow to up to 3/4 lb (0.338 kg) per breast.

  1. Darker areola, labia, as even moles. Your breast size is not the only thing that changes when you are pregnant. Even the color of your areola and nipples will become darker and bigger, too. The same thing is also true with the labia and even your moles.
  2. Melasma. With the hormones going crazy while you are expecting, it is not difficult to see other parts of your body getting a bit darker. You will also find brownish pigmentation on your face. This is also known as the “mask of pregnancy.”
  3. Stretch marks. This is another normal thing that happens when you are heavy with a baby. As your uterus stretches, so does the skin in your belly. This distends the skin and the underlying layer of the skin, called the dermis, is also stretched beyond its limits and tears. Because of this the deeper layers of the skin wills show through and are seen on the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin) as stretch marks.
  4. Dry or oily nail, hair, and skin. As you might expect, it’s the fluctuating hormones during pregnancy that is the culprit for all these changes.
  5. Emotional changes. Maternal motivation surges during pregnancy. As such, the pregnant mom will have a heightened emotional involvement concerning her and her baby’s condition. That makes it easy to explain why the mother becomes easily stressed-out, especially during her pregnancy.

Ease the discomfort with the perfect fitting undergarments

As you can see, pregnancy is not an easy thing to experience. You may soon be delighted to the fact that your new bundle of joy will soon be near you. While waiting for it to come, reality sets in and you will just have to do whatever you can to compensate for it and feel good that it happened to you.

One of the things that give you much comfort is what you wear next to your skin. These are things that not only can give you the feeling of security but also and the confidence that you can still feel good about your condition no matter what.

The first things that will be of concern to you will be your private parts and, of course, your baby belly. As mentioned earlier, you will be gaining more weight as the months go by. Expecting women usually begin to grow a cup size, even more. As you feel your breasts getting snug into your bra, you will need to find a few that will fit you better. Take it as a sign that you need to buy a new bra.

Tips on how to choose the best underwear for pregnancy

Finding the right brassiere

You can still feel alluring when you wear a charming lingerie during your pregnancy. Simply go for a regular bra. However, you need to make sure that it will be a size bigger. If you would rather buy one that you can use longer than just during pregnancy, opt for maternity bras. These brassieres are made to have wider straps to provide extra support. They are also designed with a soft lining (no under-wire cups) for more comfort. Opt for bra colors that you can wear with any other garments, like beige, white, and black. Finally, you can also look for a bra extender. This will add a few inches to your bra band and will make you feel comfortable even when your breasts grow a cup or two bigger.

As always look for a good quality brand that can provide prompt customer service, so if you have any concerns, you can just go back to the seller and have some quick answers.

Finding the right underwear

There are many options for you to choose from when it comes to pregnancy panties. What you need to consider is the cut and the coverage that you want to have while wearing a pair of it. You can opt for a pair that can go over the belly like the high-cut panties. Note, however, that this style won’t be the most flattering thing you may want to see covering your belly and your private part. But if you need something that can provide a gentle support for your belly as well as your pelvic area, this could be the best option.

You also have the option to go for a lace, cotton, and even an elastic material for your underwear. Some brands that you can search for include Motherhood, Thyme, Belevation, Intimate Portal, and Hoplynn. These are high-quality brands that can provide you with a wide variety of options. Choose a pair or more that will make you feel comfortable and won’t cause any skin irritations.

Pregnancy is a serious matter. Treat yourself well. That includes providing the best even for those parts that are intended to be concealed.

Reasons Why You Should You Wear A Maternity Belt

Pregnancy is a serious matter. Any woman planning or expecting to get pregnant will have to consider her physical, emotional, intellectual, and even financial capabilities. This is due to the fact that pregnancy will affect her total well being. She will have to make a number of adjustments to ensure that she and her baby will enjoy a healthy pregnancy.

It’s All About The Baby In The Belly

One of these many concerns is her growing belly. Most muscle, joints, and other parts near her abdominal area will have to adjust in size, shape, and weight to accommodate the rapidly growing baby inside her belly. These vital and uncontrollable bodily changes may trigger some pains that can make the expectant mother’s life quite challenging.

Her diet will change to supply the daily nutritional requirement of her baby. And as her baby develops, she will gain more weight. The additional weight that she carries in her belly may put pressure on her core muscles. This may also cause some pregnancy-related pains.

Her skin, as well as her uterus, will expand to allow the growing fetus to have more room to grow. This may cause her to stoop and waddle so she could bear the additional weight without feeling any pain. Her pregnancy may also cause extra blood to be collected in her lower extremities and cause her blood vessels to expand. This will add up to the pressure and create constant intermittent pain.

What An Expectant Mother Needs

For these reasons, as well as for all the other accompanying changes that may make her pregnancy quite difficult to manage at times, an expectant mother will be happy to receive all the support her primary and secondary health providers can extend. She will also need to modify a lot of things in her life, including her wardrobe.

Why An Expectant Mother Needs To Have A Pregnancy Belt

A pregnancy belt or a belly band is a piece of maternity accessory that a pregnant mother wears around her abdomen. It serves several functions other than keeping her tight or unzipped pants from falling.

Here are some of the reasons why many expectant mothers have come to love these pregnancy belts.

  1. This piece of pregnancy accessory can provide a soothing and affordable relief to pregnancy pains.
  • Pregnancy bands are designed to provide support to the mother’s belly and her lower back. This lessens lower back discomfort caused by the unbalanced weight in the middle part of the body.
  • It can also provide relief for the symptoms of Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) or Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP). These are also common concerns during pregnancy.
  • Wearing a pregnancy belt can also easer hip and pelvic pain caused by the release of the hormone relaxin. This hormone prepares the pregnant woman’s body for labor.
  • It can provide a soothing relief for sciatica. This is also a common nerve pain which can spread down the back or leg.
  • As it helps hold the belly bump, it can ease the tension around the round ligaments. The round ligaments are located around the uterus. They get to be stretch as the baby grows in the uterus. With the belly band supporting the baby bump, tension is lessened and pain is also alleviated.
  1. Wearing a pregnancy band will make it more convenient for a pregnant mother to engage in her daily activities. You will feel a lot more comfortable and at ease as you know that there something under your belly that functions like a second pair of hands that is ready to carry much of your baby’s weight. This relaxes you and allows your body to move freely and without tension in the surrounding muscles. Hence, you feel more engaged and more satisfied with whatever you are doing.
  2. Having a belly band around your waist will encourage your body to maintain a proper posture. It is easy to see why pregnant women stoop or lean forward. This makes them feel comfortable as the added weight tends to pull their body down. But with the help of a belly band, it will be easy for their body to be constantly be reminded to straighten up and lessen the possibility of feeling pain in the lower extremities as the weight (that of the baby and the pregnant woman’s body) that could cause tension in the muscles will be lifted off as the belt send signals to the muscles, joints, and bones to maintain a correct posture.

Maternity Belts Are Made For Short-term Use

Even with these benefits, a pregnant woman should not be overly dependent on belly bands. Hence, doctors recommend wearing these belts for only up to 3 hours. There are many brands that offer different sizes and colors of these maternity support belts. You need to make sure to buy one or two that will fit perfectly and will expand as your baby grows inside your tummy.

Ease Pain And Enjoy A Healthy Pregnancy Even Without Relying On A Pregnancy Belt

There are other ways that you can enjoy your pregnancy even without fully relying on a belly band. If you will constantly create a mental reminder for yourself on these things, you may find soon enough that your body has managed to adjust properly (even without mental cues).

  • Be aware of your posture. Maintaining a good posture is possible if you become sensitive about your body’s position.
  • Regular exercise. With regular exercise, your core muscles will be strengthened. This will allow the body to carry the added weight (of your growing bump) without feeling any tension or discomfort.
  • Learn to do kegels and squats to strengthen your pelvic floor. If you have a health issue such as PGP or SPD, you need to consult your primary health provider for further recommendations, however.
  • Attend a pregnancy Yoga class. This can be a great alternative to other exercises. It will allow your body to remain calm, be relieved of physical discomfort, and even teach your body how to respond with ease to your pregnancy.
  • Use a natural magnesium spray to add to your magnesium intake. Doing this will help relieve muscle pains. It can also help with morning sickness.

A pregnancy belt is one important piece of maternity accessory that can make your pregnancy a lot better. It should only be used for specific health conditions, however, and following a health practitioner’s recommendations.

You may just look as lovely and totally captivated with everything around you like #taylorkrabill even with your bump showing with a maternity belt or a belly band around your baby belly.

Inside these follicles, sebum carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. With each follicle grows out out to the skin a thin hair. A pimple grows when the clogged pore breaks down.

Then, pout three five drops of tea tree oil on the washcloth and massage your skin with it. Just leave it on the skin to dry. Do this three times in a day for best results.

You can easily do this by drinking 8-10 glasses everyday. This can also keep your skin’s natural moisture and allow it to stay healthy and young-looking.
  3. Maintain a healthy diet. What you eat also contributes much to how your skin’s health will be. Incorporating leafy greens, such as kale, lettuce, cucumber, beets, spinach, and the like will help keep your skin healthy. Taking in foods rich in anti-loxidants will keep your immune system functioning well. This will help ensure that your skin will also be free from free radicals that may cause an acne breakout.
  4. Cleansing Ritual. It is important that you keep your skin clean throughout the day. When you do, use mild cleansers. This will prevent the skin from any irritation while you are cleaning it. When choosing a product to use, you also need to take note of these harmful chemicals: oxybenzone (sometimes labeled as benzophenone), parabens (also listed as one of these on product labels: methyl, propyl, butyl, and ethyl), hydroquinone, artificial fragrances, DHA (dihydroxyacetone), and so on.
  5. Use sunscreen. During pregnancy pigment-producing cells known as melanocytes are on hyper-drive. This makes your skin to get easily burned and also prone to darkening. This requires you to use a sun protection product such as sunscreen. When looking for the best sunscreen, make sure to use one that provides full-coverage. This will keep not only UVB, but also UVA I and UVA II rays (these are the ones that can penetrate the skin and cause it to darken).

A sunscreen with SPF 15 to 50 will also be your best option. You will also need to check if there are harmful ingredients in the product, such as oxybenzone. You need to opt for an oil-free sunscreen as well. Finally, the sunscreen will be best used by rubbing it on the skin and not by spraying. By opting for a sunscreen lotion or cream that you can rub on the skin, you are sure than every inch of the skin is covered with the product. This also ensures that no portion of the product is wasted.

  1. Practice healthy skin care routine. This includes using products that are non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic as they won’t clog the pores. Clogging the pores, as mentioned earlier, causes acne. Allowing products that double the clogging will definitely exacerbate your condition instead of treating it.

You may also need to use clean bedings. Make sure that your hair, skin, and nails are thoroughly clean throughout the day and before you go to bed. Bed sheets, blankets, and pillows also need to be changed regularly to make sure that no dust, mites, bacteria, or germs stay trapped on the things that you use.

  1. Use natural treatment methods to manage and cure acne. There are so many natural ingredients that you can use to treat acne. Aloe Vera, Turmeric, and steam are just a few of them. Using them on your skin will not only be safe, but they will also be healthy for both you and your baby.

If you see early signs of acne, do not fret. Remember these tips and you will soon say hello to an acne-free and healthy skin.

Safety Tips to Use Nails Polish for Pregnancy

These could definitely raise the concerns of those who use such products, especially those who are heavy with their babies. Using nail products such as these may lead to a certain level of exposure to the volatile substances included in the formulas. However, occasional as well as very limited contact with these compounds may not create a potential risk to a woman’s fertility and even the health of the fetus.

There may be available studies revealing the effects of working with nail polish on reproduction.  Nonetheless, there may be several other factors that may be linked to such adverse effects. It could be the inappropriate use of the products or ingestion of the products that have already dried on the skin when using the hands to prepare or eat food. The extent of the exposure may also vary depending on the ventilation provided while doing the nail cleaning and polishing. It may also have to do with the quality and formulation of the nail polish product, as well as the maintenance of the application.

What’s in your nail polish?

There are many compounds in traditional acrylics that are known to be hazardous to the health. Here are some of them:

Toluene is added to some nail polish formulation as it helps the product to level easily on the nail surface. It allows the polish to glide smoothly and not create lumps on the nails. It is noted, however, that this chemical may damage the nervous system and also cause birth defects if one is exposed to beyond the allowable or safe levels while using the nail polish product. This could be probably only if you inhale Toluene directly and constantly. Otherwise, your nails, as well as your health won’t be affected by occasional use and limited exposure.

This chemical is added to nail polish products as a hardening compound. However, exposure to high levels of this compound may increase the risk of cancer. It can also cause irritation to the eyes, nose, throat, and lungs. Nonetheless, with the strict regulations employed in the production of such products, it is very unlikely that the nail polish will affect you.

Isopropyl alcohol

Some nail polish manufacturers replaced formaldehyde. This compound is known to be toxic when ingested and will create systemic effects if ever it absorbed into the bloodstream.

Resins (such as formaldehyde resins)

Studies show that resins can cause severe skin irritations, allergic reactions, depigmentation, and also a loss of nerve sensation.

Phthalate esters

Phthalates are considered as endocrine disruptors. They are known to mimic the hormone estrogen in the body. Studies reveal that these compounds may impair the hormonal development of male fetuses, cause damage to the organ, and may even trigger the early onset of menopause.

Camphor makes some nail polish products to shine. Research reveals, however, that exposure to camphor may trigger allergic reactions and severe skin irritations. It is also linked to liver dysfunction.

Having said all these, it might lift your spirits to know that there are safe nail polish for pregnancy. Several nail pigment formulas today are made with essential nutrients that help the nails and the skin to be revitalized and allow the nails to grow healthier and stronger with each application of the polish.

Moreover, with the continuous research in the nail management industry, many nail polish manufacturers have found a solution to formulating longer-wearing manicures and pedicures. Some other types of nail polish formulas have been added years ago to provide other options for nail polish lovers. Gel, gel types, as well as dip powder, are other nail polish pigment choices that will allow you to wear chip-free nails longer. Some formulas may even allow your nail polish to lasts for up to three weeks. That means a less frequent visit to the salon. Or if you still prefer to DIY, that will mean that you will just have to do your nails for about once, at most twice, in a month.
